Girls are a big part of Pack 149

Embracing change

Responding to the rising demand to include siblings in Scouting events, the Family Scouting Program was launched in 2018.  What this means is, with the right leadership and participation, elementary school aged girls can join Cub Scouts.

With several families in the Taylor Elementary, Glebe Elementary, and St. Agnes school areas interested in their daughters joining Cub Scouts, Pack 149 and the sponsoring organization, Cherrydale United Methodist Church, made the decision to start including girls and launched several girl Dens within Pack 149.

2023-2024

For the 2023-2024 school year, Pack 149 is excited to have several all-girl Dens, with at least one all-girl Den for each grade from Kindergarten to 5th.  And our 5th grade Arrow of Light Den has been part of Scouting since the girls program launched in 2018.
